It is entitled Escaping Time: Art From 2016 Project Overview Experience a different perspective of life behind bars with Escaping Time: Art From U.S. Prisons, a unique show of artwork by people are currently and have in the past experienced incarceration. Founded and produced by Anastasia Voron and Mark Thivierge, the show aims to rehabilitate men and women in prison through the use of art. This year's Escaping Time exhibition will be in collaboration with Isaac Scott of The Confined Arts and as part of this exhibition, we are including artwork by artists who are formally incarcerated, experienced incarceration through their family members,

It was on display at Governors Island, from July 26-September 25, 2016
The project aims to highlight the struggles faced by incarcerated women at a time when the criminal justice system is in crisis and in dire need of reform. The Confined Arts has turned the Hunter East Harlem Gallery into an “educational lounge” for the summer, and will continue to feature: a dialogue wall, artwork, a letter writing station, a listening station, a lounge area, and a small library inside the gallery space–all of which address artistic meditations on how women experience living in confined spaces, life after release, and family interactions.
Fantasy in Color
An artist collective network founded by Rob Ayala. We facilitate and coordinate creative events and experiences for local artists. Our mission is to create a network of local artistry to band together on projects and bring the arts back into our communities. We believe everyone has the ability to create and that we need to have a community in order to make a greater impact towards our collective artistry.
