“Her happiness floated like waves of ocean along the coast of her life. ..."

Finding Peace in the Midst of your storm....

Finding Peace is so important to my mental health. I have learned over time to not eat my way through depression. I had to get to the core of dealing with sadness. By writing my emotions down. Seeking conversation and help from people who really new me. Finding people I trusted to pour into my life. My Life coach/ Mentor helped me tremendously Richard Reeves. During the time I did not completely surrender to the help that was given to me. However, there definitely was a change in me that has made a better person today.

This is what I did that helped me and It's still helping !

I've learned to express my feelings not hold them in.

Release negative people.

Forgive those who hurt me and forgive myself for hurting people.

Learning to say No! even if it made me uncomfortable.

Being committed to self love and self care became a priority.

Praying and my faith in God got me through the toughest moments in life

Reading the BIBLE and focusing on particular scriptures that strengthened my spirit.

In the Midst of my Storm these things made me happy and still bring me JOY

I would draw on my clothes and add embellishments to hats shirts, boots creating my own fashion.

I learned to take myself out..Enjoy time with myself. Dinner, movies, plays spending quality time with me.

I brought myself things that I would appreciate from an significant other.

I took myself to the beach and sat down by the water.

I realized I enjoyed painting and being creative all by myself. How peaceful it is!

“ Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace.” — ...

Inner Peace is so important to our health. Find time alone to continue to get to know yourself. Work on self love and self preservation. Talk to a friend, and or family member to get help inspiration, encouragement. Positive conversation will lead to self revelation. Treat yourself to the movies, candlelight dinner, Spa etc. Do things that bring you happiness. You can start with free or low cost activities you can do at home. Take walks in the park bring a book write down your thoughts. Go Jogging ! Enjoy the sun, trees and air you breath. Repeat affirmation that speak to who you are becoming. Exploring feelings that have been laying dormant can be scary. However it can lead to extreme personal growth. I choose to except the things I could not change and work on the things I can. Seek help if doing this alone is overwhelming. Do not give up on yourself! There is only one you!

This has worked for me, however this may not work for you but I am so glad I choose me. I am not a certified therapist or counselor. However, I am me sharing my growth. In hopes that it can help someone.

Did you find some great strategies of your own that helped or is helping you find peace? How has is it helping? Let me know in the comments.
